Sureway
Worldwide of Minnesota merges
courier Best Express into local-delivery operation
Bloomington, Minn. (March 7, 2000) Sureway Worldwide of Minnesota
will merge Best Express, an eight-year-old courier service headquartered
in Shakopee, Minn., into its local delivery business. Best Express
serves 300 customers, primarily in the South Metro area. The
merger agreement is effective April 1, 2000, according to Don
Cameron, president of Sureway Worldwide of Minnesota. Best Express
customers will be served by Sureway beginning on that date. Former
Best Express owner Randy Busch becomes account manager-local
delivery of Sureway Worldwide of Minnesota.
"We are always looking for ways to improve our reach and
depth of service," said Cameron. "Our focus has always
been to provide the same level of professionalism in the courier
business as we do in our air-delivery operation. That focus has
helped us become the comprehensive transportation provider for
our customers."
In the past year, the Sureway local delivery operation added
EasyEx online ordering and tracking system for local deliveries.
The electronic system can be accessed via the Internet browser
at http://www.surewaymn.com/
or http://www.easyex.com/.

BACKGROUND
In 1987, Don Cameron started an air delivery company serving
the Twin Cities. Today, the air express service makes more than
250 shipments daily filling an important delivery niche for customers
who have time-sensitive, unscheduled and emergency shipments.
Sureway Worldwide of Minnesota makes late night pickups (until
midnight) for next morning delivery-long after most air shippers
have gone home. The company also offers same-day air service
in most major markets.
In 1994, Cameron expanded the business by offering local delivery
services-a unique endeavor because most shipping companies provide
either local or air service but not both. Today, the local delivery
business serves approximately 2,000 customers and makes 750 local
courier and dock-truck deliveries each day in the seven county
metropolitan area.
Sureway Worldwide of Minnesota has been the fastest growing shipping
service in the Twin Cities, experiencing annualized growth of
30 percent over eight years and a projected 20 percent growth
this year.
